Nothing moves a heart more than the loss of a life that ends too soon and in a senseless manner. Daniela was an 18TEEN year old who was robbed of her dreams, her goals…her future. She was murdered by her husband of one month who also took his life on August 19, 2007.
Teens have a future ahead of them, they have plans, goals and most of all they have every right and all the potential to achieve them. They should not be controlled or stopped in any way by an abusive dating partner. It is Royalty’s mission to educate, inspire and encourage teens to make wise dating decisions, to make them aware of rights and wrongs in dating. To make them leaders not followers, to help them establish values and principles that lead to a healthy self esteem based on God’s word.
Royalty is a nonprofit organization we work towards the awareness of Teen Dating Abuse and Domestic Violence. This is made possible by the generous support of people like you.
Royalty has been invited to many conferences and outreaches. In 2008 we attended the 2008 Latina Expo and had the privilege of speaking to over 800 teenage girls. We were also present at the AAMA “Barrios Unidos Conference”. I have shared with many of you my experience at this conference where I had a young lady who was very touched by Daniela’s story and made a wise decision to end an abusive relationship. It is times like these that let us know that we are making a difference. Royalty was also invited to be on “The Victor Trevino Show” on October 15, 2008 where the topic was of course Domestic Violence and Teen Dating Abuse. Mi Familia Magazine published an article about us in their October issue. Royalty understands the importance of supporting reputable organizations and causes such as Stand Up For Kids… in 2008 we put together over 75 care packages that were given out to homeless teenagers and our goals is to exceed the number of these packages in 2009.
In 2009 Royalty will be working diligently with CIS “Communities In Schools” to bring Teen Dating Abuse Awareness to schools. We will also be involved in the MADD walkathon as well as the Walk against Domestic Violence. We are looking forward to making promotional videos on teen dating abuse.
We’re asking you, today, to take a stand against Teen Dating Abuse and Domestic Violence by making a donation of $100.00 or any amount that your budget will allow.
Your donation will cover expenses for marketing material, such as t-shirts, wrist bands that are given to the teens at most of our events. Promotional material such as fliers, poster boards and many other necessary items.
